Freeze drying for preservation
Preserve materials through freeze drying (also known as lyophilisation) by first freezing them with liquid nitrogen, and then dehydrating them in a vacuum so that the frozen water sublimes directly from liquid to gas.
Air Products advantage
Air Produce can provide a range of nitrogen cooling solutions to help you:
- Improve performance
- Reduce costs
- Optimise your freeze drying applications
Low temperature storage
This is the best way to preserve materials that cannot withstand oxygen or heat, or materials that lose activity as a liquid – enabling them to remain highly stable in their dehydrated form. Examples include antibiotics, vaccines, antibodies, protein, enzymes, blood products, bacteria, viruses, and fine chemicals.
